When British teenager Courtney Hadwin auditioned on America’s Got Talent, no one could have anticipated the stunning performance that was about to unfold. At just 13 years old, Courtney appeared exceptionally shy as she took the stage, nervously admitting to the judges that she was quite anxious.
In an effort to reassure her, Mel B said, “Don’t be nervous. I know it’s a big stage and there are lots of people here, but you’re here for a reason. Go for it. Good luck.”
As Courtney began her rendition of Otis Redding’s ‘Hard to Handle,’ the transformation was astonishing. The judges and audience were left in awe, jaws dropping as they watched her electrifying performance.
By the end of the song, Courtney had earned a standing ovation from everyone in the room. Her father, who was watching from backstage with host Tyra Banks, was overjoyed. Even Simon Cowell, notorious for his tough critiques, exclaimed, “Bloody hell, Courtney. You were this shy little thing when you came out, but when you sing, you’re like a lion. Genuinely incredible.”
Fellow judge Howie Mandel was so impressed that he hit the golden buzzer, catapulting her straight through to the live shows.
Previously a finalist on The Voice Kids UK, Courtney’s performance on America’s Got Talent garnered her a massive new following. Social media, particularly Twitter, erupted with praise for the young star, celebrating her undeniable talent and unforgettable audition.
